These are a Few of my Favorite Things

I don't really have much going on right now, but it does seem like it has been really busy the last few week. After the BIG fire scare we had Feb. 27, 2011 (I'll post about that later!) And with surgery, hospital visits and spring break....I'm looking forward to lots of down time! My brain just physically hurts someday...haha!
Just thought I'd do a random post on some of my new favorite things. This little cutie is so cool and I really love it. It is the glade sense and spray. It is motion sensored
and gives off just enough of a fresh scent. I have the tropical scent in the kids bathroom and just love walking by after it has gone off to get a fresh summery smell.
I have bought 3 of these for my house over the last year and I'm in love with them. They are really a great invention, especially if you have little ones who like to blow out candles or try to burn down the house with them. These are safe to leave on all the time. I have several scents and change them about once a week for a different scent. I just really think they are a must for every house. YUMMY!

My newest addition to my favorites list is this Keurig coffee maker. Since I am usually the only one in the family that drinks coffee this is just perfect. I have wanted one forever and just didn't know if I should splurge on it. It really is not a necessity, it is so a luxury. I catch myself drinking a little cup of coffee after dinner too. LOVE, love , love it!!!!

This coffee is soooo good. It has become a favorite of mine since I got my Keurig. It has a nice flavor of coconut which I love. If you have a Keurig...you must try this. Yummo.

Everyone is great here thanks for stopping by to read.
XOXO

Pillow and Changes

This year has already started out with a few changes, and we are only 20 days into it. First of all our beautiful Ashley turned 12 AND got braces. (More on that in another post). We have also been blessed to have found us a church home and joined Jan.17th. Trinity Fellowship is what we know call "our Church". We have been going to their Saturday night service for 6 mo. now and Henry and I both, along with the kids have really enjoyed it. They have great Kid and Youth programs for the kids. Charlie LOVES going to Heroland and Ashley LOVES going to Xtreme. That was very important to us. We wanted a church that the kids liked and wanted to get involved in. I am so thankful that we have found a place to call home. So why did I take a picture of this bag? Well, inside it is 2 Bibles, 2 pens, and 2 note pads....Why? you ask. Well, not only did we join Trinity, Henry and I also joined our very first Life Group. Last night was our first night, and let me just say that I thought of a million different reasons NOT to go. I think I might have even had a slight anxiety attack on the way to the church. Most of you know that neither myself or Henry do well in groups. HAHA Henry just kept saying it'll be good we need to go.....so we went. AND....We enjoyed it. AND....we look forward to going back next week. So there ya go. Congratulations to us!
And on to another change in our house...Charlie has finally decided that the frog potty chair needs to leave the house. He says, "take it away and give it to the babies". FINALLY we are free from cleaning that little green toe stubber. Those of you who have cleaned on know what I'm talking about. YUCK. Ashley never used one, she always used the "big potty". So I put it in my rather large trash pile for H to dispose of this week. Yay.

Now on to the post I mentioned last week or so. PILLOW! Now look at this little guy He really LOVES these two pillows.

This little brownish thing that he is snuggled up to is his #1 all time favorite thing. Believe it or not, it IS clean. It has been washed numerous times in bleach, but this is just about as good as it gets. It is often referred to by Henry as "frankenpillow" because it has had numerous holes repaired by Grandmother or Nanny. He absolutely refused to put a pillow case in it...ever. Now he doesn't lay his head on this beauty, he puts it on top of his head when he goes to bed. Seriously cute and funny.

Now this is his beloved BOPPY. Aunt Jerilynn bought this for us when I was expecting Charlie. It at one point had pretty light yellow cover with sheep on it. It has since had to be recovered due to holes and the stuffing coming out. Now when he was tiny we would lay him in the hole in the middle on a blanket and he slept really good. It has been onboard during several hospital stays also. He puts his little head on it everynight and loves it.
Now both of these pillows have been on several vacations...Dallas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida to name a few. And the brownish colored one even got to go INSIDE Magic Kingdom, Downtown Disney and Hollywood Studios. Yep...stuffed in the bottom of a stroller. I have bigh HOPES that pillow and boppy will retire as easy as frog potty.....BUT I WON'T HOLD MY BREATH!

HappY BiRThdAy ASHLey.....

We took Ashley and some of her school friends bowling for her birthday. They had a great time.
Poor Ashley needs to work on her bowling skills though. She is a pro on the wii, but real life is another story. I got this cake at Cakes and More, and it was seriously the best cake. I forget how good their cakes are. I will be paying a little extra from now on to get these cakes. I wish I had a little slice right now.
Happy big 12 Ashley.....

Pesto Chicken

This is truly a delicious recipe that I'm so glad that I tried. I think I could have eaten the whole pan, but I am trying to loose a few pounds so I limited my portion to what you see above. It was wonderful.
Pesto Chicken
Chicken breasts
Pesto
Mozzarella Cheese
I put a couple spoons full of pesto in my glass Pyrex dish and spread it around.
Coat your chicken with the pesto....I used approx. 1 teaspoon per breast
Top with shredded cheese.
Cover and bake at 350 for approx. 45 min to an hour.
I uncovered mine the last 15 min. to kinda brown the cheese.
I served this over pasta that I added about 2 tablespoons of pesto to after I cooked it.
And really the calorie count wasn't to bad. I only ate 1/2 cup of pasta. I served it with a big salad.
It will definitely be served around here again.
YUMMY
Please excuse my lovely paper china....I love paper plates. I hate washing more dishes. Paper has become my best friend lately.

Christmas 2010...and New Year 2011

Christmas 2010 was over way to fast, and if Charlie had it his way we would keep the tree and lights up ALL year long. He LOVED it this year. I think he finally got the whole Santa thing this year, now we have to work on The REAL meaning behind Christmas with him for next year.Little Mackinzie has grown up since I saw her last. It has been almost a year since I saw this little doll, and she is so precious and sweet. She like playing with Charlie's toys, but Charlie didn't like to share much with her. (NOTE TO SELF....continue to work on sharing this year) HAHA.
Nanny and Ashley

Presents under our cute little tree!

Ashley did a lot of this and is still doing a lot of this on her new lap top Santa brought her. This wins the best gift award by far in her book!

Papa watching Charlie's new train go round and round. This train from Nanny and Papa was a huge hit and I think it is his favorite gift this year. This little boy loves trains!

Ashley got me something I've wanted for a long time.....A SNUGGIE!
Haha, I know it's cheesy, but I LOVE IT!

Christmas morning! I actually had to wake these Children up to see what they got....at like 8:30 or so! Lazy bones.

Love this cute gel watch.

Charlie and his "Monter Truck"! He loves them almost as much at trains!

Ashley painted this cute plate at Brush with Art a few years ago, and it made a great cookie plate for Santa's cookies. We bought Santa's favorite cookie this year instead of making them! Love the note Ashley wrote and the little orange scribble that Charlie did! Such sweet memories.

Happy New Year Y'all!

Welcome 2011
Ummm...Hey Ashley....It's not midnight yet! What are you doing?
Well, she made it till midnight in New York, does that count?

And this little sweetie pie made it till about 1030! Look at his pillow, Isn't it sad looking. We have renamed it "FRANKEN-PILLOW" It is really a story that deserves it's own post. I think I'll update on "pillow" tomorrow. The story is funny and a must for our memory someday!

This is what we did new years eve. We stayed in, Henry cooked steaks on the grill in the freezing cold, and we played a game of Monopoly. Lets just say that my dear husband won...like he does most games! Ashley isn't the best looser and quit early!

Blessings to all my family this year. I am praying that this year brings lots of fun times and that God blesses us with health. I pray that me and my family continue to grow in the church that we have grown to love and look forward to attending every week. We will officially be joining
our Church on Jan. 17th. I know that the LORD has big plans for me and my family, and I hope that we will full fill HIS plans for us.
