So Excited.....

9 days after starting potty training.....Charlie is 95% potty trained!!!! He has had 1 accident in the past 3 days. It is basically because he could not get his undies down fast enough. He goes on his little potty and then he'll take the peepee to the big potty and dump it and flush it. It is sooo funny. He is pretty self sufficient with it all. He even wears undies to nap in and has worn them to bed at night. I'm pretty much in shock how fast he caught on to the whole thing. He's such a CHAMP.
BYE BYE DIAPERS!!!!!!

Big things are happening.....

....In our house!!!! I am so happy to announce that the potty training of my LAST child has started. It is going soooo well, I'm waiting for the "catch" somewhere. I have been told that training boys is much harder and a longer process than girls. I have really dreaded it for months now. Last week when Charlie came into the kitchen and said POO POO and pointed to his hiney and layed down to be changed....I figured it was time for the training to start.
Henry started him on Saturday with about 3 accidents, Sunday their was 2 accidents, Monday I think their was 1 and today we have had 1. I'm so proud of him. We decided to forgo the Pull-ups, unless we are leaving the house. We are using real undies. He has cars and trains on them....2 of his favorite things. I have no idea what the week has in store, but it is well on it's way to a dry undies week here in the Romans' household.
Way to go Charlie!!!!

Yummy to my Tummy

As a sorta new year resolution to eat at home and save money from eating out all the time, here are a couple new recipes that I like. I saw the corn on the Food Network, but I changed it up so it is healthier than their version. I really like the flavor."fried corn"
I use 1 can of sweet corn and drain off the water,
Add to a skillet with salt and pepper and get a sizzle on it.
Then I add about a tablespoon of honey.
toss it around on medium heat and let it get kinda golden brown.
It just has a sweeter taste than the regular sweet corn taste and it is a little bit "caramelized". You can add butter as well for a richer taste, but like I said I'm trying to cut the fat a little in the diet so it is great without it.
I had some banana's that I was going to have to throw away this morning, so I decided to salvage them for an after dinner treat. Got this recipe off allrecipes.com. I really like it. It isn't over the top banana in your face. Nuts would be great in this as well. I made mini loaves instead, since I don't have a good loaf pan. I just baked them for about 35 min instead. Charlie gave them a stamp of approval this morning.

Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 1/3 cups mashed overripe bananas
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture; stir just to moisten. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack
